I know i said i would keep up with this thing before, but now I mean it. Ashley and I graduate in two days and we are pumped up! I also started working as a fulltime worship leader at StoneWater this past monday! Wow, God is doing some crazy things in my life...I hope you all will stay tuned to hear about them. PEACE!

StoneWater is an amazing church! And I am glad I get to serve here!

CD IS HERE!

The CD has finally arrived! And it looks great! We hope that you will be able to grab one this Sunday. We will be selling them for $10. For those of you who came to recording don't forget to bring your card that get's you the free cd! There were only 80 or so of you, so don't try to pull any funny stuff to get a free cd if you weren't there :) Anyway, we hope you buy one for yourself and for a friend. The purpose of this cd is NOT for the band to look cool. The purpose of this cd is so that people can hear our cd and think, "wow that's the music yall play at church." That's what we want to happen with this thing, and it's up to you guys to do that!

On another note, we are leading worship for a disciple now in Copperas Cove this weekend, so be in prayer for us, that we can lead these youth to the throne of Christ! We always love to lead at these events and consider it a great honor when asked! Hope everyone has had a great week!

Why play non Christian songs at church?

I thought I would never see the day where I would pick up my phone and make a phone call where I say "hey man, you want to play some banjo at Stonewater this week?" well I did, and after rehearsal today I am so glad I did! It's going to be real cool for our mainstream opener tomorrow at stonewater, so don't be late! Here are a few reasons why we play some "non Christian" songs at church. First, remember what our church is here for, to reach and equip people for Jesus Christ. When someone comes in to church and hears a song that they heard on a rock station or a country station, that gives them a since of comfort and something to relate too! That's part of reaching! Relating helps reaching in a HUGE way! That's also why we play the style of music we do. In culture music changes constantly...You may hear a song today but in 6 months that song is outdated. For some reason traditional churches are stuck in a music era and can't find their way out. To me this is one of the biggest reasons why churches aren't reaching near as many people as they were in the 60's because in the 60's all of the "traditional" songs were new. But the churches stayed there and didn't keep up with culture. It is so critical that we keep up with culture in order to relate. Notice I didn't say compromise for culture. I simply said keep up so that Christianity doesn't come across as outdated! Thoughts?

Sunday was another awesome day at StoneWater...We are excited that we have a bigger facility, with fancyshmancy lights, and a better sound! But one thing that I don't want anyone to think is that "the people on stage are different than the people in the crowd." There is nothing that separates you guys from us except we get blinded by lights ever Sunday morning! We all know how blessed we are to be in the position that we are in, and we thank you guys for letting us lead you on sunday mornings. It's a strong strong desire of mine that you NEVER look at anyone on the stage as someone that you can't have a normal conversation with! Thank you again for choosing to go to StoneWater and choosing to allow us to lead you in in your walk with Christ! Let's be deep in our walk with Christ this week!!!!!

First Sunday at AMS

There are no words to express what God is doing at StoneWater, we have grown somewhere around 300 people in a month? Weird huh? NO, it's not. What that is, is God blessing a ministry that is doing what we are called to do. REACH THE LOST! I love StoneWater's mission and what God is doing through a few people who wanted to start a church. Here is the list of songs we did on Sunday

Good news, We are sending the album off to be printed this week, and it should be 10 business days to get it back! Here's what we want to be accomplished through this album...We want you guys (Church members/attenders) to purchase the album for the sake of paying for the cost! What we also want you to do is buy one for a friend! Get one of these cd's to give to someone who is NOT involved in a church, and here are a few reasons why.

It is an excellent ice breaker to inviting people to StoneWater.
Great excuse to talk about church, or what Christ has done in your life.

FYI, none of the money from this album is going to anyone in the band or in the church, it is going directly back to StoneWaters bank/savings account! I hope everyone enjoyed StoneWater this week! Don't forget to be the church and talk about Christ this week!

Okay sorry about all of the change, but not only are we changing locations for StoneWater, I am also changing my blog. The main reason is due to the way our server works on StoneWater's website, I am not able to make changes without going through someone else. So this makes it must easier to work through! I hope that you will Subscribe to this blog so that you can keep up with what's going on in my life more often.
